Milk and Dairy: Does it really do a body good?

On average, each person in the United States consumes roughly 17 gallons of milk each year. But what is the data on milk and health? How about dairy and health? Does it really protect again hip fractures? How about bone health in general? And what about the role of the 50+ hormones in milk including IGF-1 have on cancers like breast and prostate?
