Privacy policy

Last updated August 30, 2026

SELF Principle is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 82-2660081. This policy explains what information this website collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you. We collect only what is needed to provide the service you request, operate the website, and protect it from misuse. We do not sell or rent personal information. This website and newsletter carry no paid health advertising or sponsored editorial content. YouTube may place ads on videos viewed on its platform. Those ads do not influence what SELF Principle teaches.

Information collected now

Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe to the newsletter or request a free guide, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. Kit processes this information for SELF Principle and may record basic email-delivery and engagement information needed to operate the newsletter.

Website operation and security. Kinsta hosts this website and may process standard technical records needed to deliver, maintain, and protect it. Embedded media providers may receive technical information when their content loads, as described below.

Information collected through forms

Contact and Volunteer forms. If you use the Contact form, we collect your name, email address, selected category, and message. If you submit a Volunteer form, we collect your name, email address, city and state, areas of interest, availability, and the experience or other information you choose to provide. We use this information only to review the submission, respond when appropriate, and administer SELF Principle volunteer opportunities. Form submissions are sent to authorized SELF Principle recipients by email and are not saved as form entries in the WordPress database.

Sports Scholarship stage-one applications. A parent or legal guardian must submit the stage-one application. The form collects parent or guardian contact information, the student’s first name, grade, city, sport or program information, requested support, and short parent or guardian responses used to review initial eligibility. Stage one does not accept file uploads and does not request report cards, income records, tax documents, banking information, medical information, Social Security numbers, immigration information, or other sensitive records. Applications are sent to authorized SELF Principle recipients by email and are not saved as form entries in the WordPress database. Scholarship sponsors do not receive applicant information.

Online donations. When you donate, GiveWP records the information entered in the donation form, including your contact information, donation amount, campaign selection, and transaction details. Stripe processes payment-card information. SELF Principle does not receive or store your full card number. Donor information is used to process gifts, send receipts, maintain nonprofit accounting records, prevent fraud, and respond to donor questions.

How information is used and retained

We use newsletter information to send the emails and guides you requested, manage delivery, prevent abuse, and honor unsubscribe requests. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. We may retain a limited suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we do not add you back to the mailing list by mistake.

Donation records are retained as needed to process gifts, provide receipts, administer recurring donations, maintain nonprofit accounting records, prevent fraud, respond to donor questions, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Contact, Volunteer, and Scholarship submission emails are retained only as long as needed to review and respond, administer the applicable program or opportunity, protect the website from misuse, and meet applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations. If a student is selected to continue, SELF Principle may ask the parent or legal guardian for limited supporting documents through a separate secure process. Supporting documents should not be sent through the public form or ordinary email unless SELF Principle provides specific secure instructions.

When information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only with service providers needed to deliver the service you requested, protect or operate the website, comply with law, or protect legal rights. Scholarship sponsors do not receive applicant or subscriber information and do not influence SELF Principle health education.

Cookies and embedded content

The site may use cookies or similar technology needed for basic operation, security, newsletter functionality, and embedded content. YouTube and Spotify may set their own cookies or receive technical information when their players load. Those services operate under their own privacy policies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, although some features may not work as intended.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from newsletter email at any time. You can also ask what personal information SELF Principle holds about you, request a correction, or request deletion, subject to information the organization must retain for legal, security, or recordkeeping purposes.

Children’s information

This website is directed to adults, and SELF Principle does not knowingly collect application information directly from children. A parent or legal guardian must submit a Sports Scholarship application and consent to the review of the limited student information requested.
